Dominic Khoo

Dominic Khoo was the first South-East Asian to have worked full-time as a professional watch expert in an auction house. Under the watchful eyes of world famous watch expert Osvaldo Patrizzi and the world’s biggest watch auction house, Antiquorum, Dominic spent several periods of the year in their offices in Geneva, HK and Shanghai, appraising and authenticating watches for international clients and auctions. He even had a chance on the hammer, successfully auctioning off a watch at more than six times the starting price at the OmegaMania auction in Shanghai. It was no ordinary watch of course; it was the watch worn by none other than the lady standing next to him on stage – Nicole Kidman.

In the earlier part of his career, Dominic contributed took on journalist, editor, editorial director and editor-in-chief roles to several international publications including International Wristwatch, Revolution, Tatler’s World of Time, Prestige’s Tic Talk, Goldarths Review and Real Time. Dominic has accumulated now 16-years of investing in watches, wearing them and selling them for more. In 2013, the world’s oldest auction house previously owned by Christies’ – Spink 1666, has recently appointed Dominic as their first and only watch specialist to start up their international watch auction business.

Dominic regards his failures as being runner-up in the Nominated Member of parliament seat 2 years ago, his role as Chairman of the Singapore International Film Festival, and not being able to start the world’s first school for the urban arts.

Dominic was recently featured on the cover of the personal wealth section of The Edge, and FT.com wrote about The Watch Fund as one of the top three watch investment systems in the world. Since then, The Watch Fund has offices in Geneva, HK and Singapore and has become the world’s biggest watch investment system in the world with USD $38,000,000 in assets under management in less than 2 years. It has also become the watch investment system with the highest returns – yet still being the only system in which the investors actually wear the watches they invested in.
