Azran Osman-Rani spoke at the recent HPE Aruba Conference on entrepreneurship and innovation.
In his presentation, Azran shared lessons from his iflix venture. Azran said “You give life to these gigabytes that are very personal. It becomes a more powerful tool.” and “When you don’t have size and scale, it’s about moving faster.”

Azran Osman-Rani knows what it takes to build business from the ground up and sustain it through innovative products and services.
Azran was the founding CEO of AirAsia X at the age of 36 and was able to grow the airline from a single aircraft to 26, employing over 2,500 team members, and being the first low-cost, long-haul airline to be publicly-listed in 2013.
In addition to leadership roles in the aviation, media & technology, and capital markets sectors, Azran is a former McKinsey & Company and Booz Allen & Hamilton management consultant, and a Stanford University alumnus. He is an Ironman triathlete and loves adventure travel.
He also currently Chairs the Advisory Board for the Asia Business Centre, Curtin Business School in Australia. He holds Board positions with PT XL Axiata in Indonesia and Apex Investment Services in Malaysia. He Chairs the Malaysian Chapter of YPO. He also advises start-ups and high-growth businesses through Endeavor Malaysia, Kairos Society, and the Cyberview Living Lab Accelerator programme and is currently the CEO of iflix in Malaysia, and its Group COO.
