Supermodel Elle Macpherson is not just beautiful but also smart. In this interview at Chicago Ideas Week she talks about beauty, business and how daring to be different was crucial to her success.
In a 1982, Elle Macpherson first appeared on TV in an ad for TAB cola, and quickly became the favourite “girl next door” in Australia. From there her reputation grew and she became a leading personality in fashion, film and business, rooting herself as one of the most recognised faces and brand names in the world.
Away from the realms of acting and modelling, Elle Macpherson is a highly successful business woman, creating her own brand of lingerie in 1989, “Elle Macpherson Intimates”. Today, it’s one of the most globally recognised lines of lingerie, most recently having been launched in Canada, the US and the Gulf States, following successes in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. She then went one step further, yet again, and expanded her brand into bath and body products, the “Elle Macpherson The Body beauty products”, which were launched globally in 2008.
Following on from her experiences, Elle Macpherson has become one of the finest speakers to date, addressing a wide range of audiences, talking about entrepreneurialism, branding and brand development, corporate social responsibility, and fashion.
