Bernard (Bernie) Lo is a distinguished broadcast journalist and television anchor, best known for his prominent roles with CNBC and Bloomberg Television Asia. From 2010 to 2021, he served as CNBC’s Hong Kong-based anchor, cohosting the flagship morning business and markets program “Squawk Box” and hosting his namesake talk show “Straight Talk with Bernie Lo.” During this time, Bernie became a trusted voice in Asia’s financial and business landscape, delivering insightful analysis and interviews with world leaders and industry titans.
Prior to his second tenure at CNBC, Bernie was the lead anchor with Bloomberg Television Asia from 2003 to 2010, where he fronted the morning business program “Morning Call” and hosted “Asia Confidential with Bernie Lo”, a talk show blending politics, lifestyle, and entertainment. His career originally took flight when he joined the startup team that launched CNBC Asia in 1994, at a transformative time when satellite and cable television were reshaping the media landscape.
