Darren Thayre is a recognized leader in digital transformation and AI, currently serving as Head of Digital Transformation & AI Pursuit Lead, Global Strategic Initiatives at Google. In this global leadership role, he partners with C-suite executives across industries to accelerate innovation, embed AI into business strategy, and deliver large-scale transformation initiatives. With over a decade of experience helping companies in Asia navigate complex digital transformation journeys, Darren brings deep regional expertise alongside his global remit. He is a respected voice on the convergence of business transformation and technology, frequently advising on the practical application of AI, cloud, and digital ventures to future-proof organizations.
In addition to his work at Google, Darren contributes to the broader ecosystem through thought leadership and governance. He is Chair of the AI Sub-Committee at the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), where he helps shape national and professional perspectives on the responsible and effective use of AI in finance and business. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Digital Innovation at Singapore Management University, where he mentors the next generation of digital leaders and explores how emerging technologies like generative AI are reshaping industries and organizational capabilities.
Before joining Google, Darren held senior roles at the forefront of enterprise transformation. He was Partner at Oliver Wyman, advising global corporates on strategy and transformation execution. Earlier, at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Darren led the consulting transformation team responsible for some of AWS’s largest and most complex global digital transformation programmes. His experience spans financial services, healthcare, logistics, and retail, with a consistent focus on helping businesses build agility and resilience through digital innovation.
Originally from the UK, Darren has spent the last 17 years working internationally. He is also a Non-Executive Director, Executive Leadership Coach, and a proud father who moonlights as a part-time chauffeur to his two children. His personal leadership philosophy centers on bridging visionary thinking with practical action, especially in the era of AI and automation.
