Jo Lodder is a Hong Kong-based keynote speaker on resilience, leadership, and high-performance decision-making, best known as the first person to run 3,140 kilometres from the Great Wall of China to Hong Kong, completing the crossing in 60 days at age 55. He also became the first person to complete Hong Kong’s Five Trails — roughly 400 kilometres with nearly 20,000 metres of elevation gain — back-to-back.
His signature keynote, “Race the Horse You’re On,” draws on his years in the saddle, his ultra-endurance running, and his experience building businesses under pressure to help leaders and teams make faster decisions, build trust, and execute when conditions are far from ideal. Organisations engage him for keynotes on leadership, decision-making, purpose-driven performance, and rapid recovery from setbacks, delivered through real stories rather than theory.
Before turning to endurance sport and speaking, Lodder spent his early career as a professional National Hunt jockey, riding more than 100 winners across the UK, Europe, and the United States until a broken back forced his retirement from racing.
Following his riding career, Lodder moved into business, first in events management and later in real estate. He has been based in Hong Kong since 2010 and co-founded JNW Properties, a Hong Kong-based property marketing and development firm focused on resort projects in Niseko, Japan, a role he continues to hold alongside his speaking work.
