Dr Lucy Hone is a globally respected thought leader in resilience and change, bestselling author, researcher and international keynote speaker.
An adjunct senior fellow at the University of Canterbury and an award-winning academic, Lucy has spent nearly two decades advancing the science of psychological flourishing and resilience. Her practical strategies support individual and teams to perform, adapt and thrive through change.
Already a resilience researcher, Lucy’s expertise was tested in the most personal way when her twelve-year-old daughter, Abi, was killed in a motor accident. That experience deepened her commitment to understanding what helps people face adversity and sustain performance under pressure. Today, she is known globally for her rare ability to help leaders and teams navigate uncertainty, challenge and change with optimism, compassion, clarity and confidence.
Her work spans boardrooms, international stages, intimate masterclasses and webinars. She has supported Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, emergency responders, health workers, educators and hospices around the world. Whether delivering a keynote, facilitating a workshop or Masterclass, Lucy doesn’t preach from the sidelines; she partners with audiences to help them think, act and relate in ways that make lives better.
With more than fifteen years immersed in resilience science, Lucy brings exceptional depth and breadth to every stage she steps onto. Once described as being “up to her armpits in her work”, she’s particularly respected for her ability to read the room and adapt her content in real-time, translating studies and client stories into practical, actionable tools providing lasting impact across teams and organisations.
Her TED talk, 3 Secrets of Resilient People, became one of the most-watched talks of 2020 and is now rated as one of the Top 100 ‘must watch’ by TEDx. She is a bestselling author, with her latest book, How Will I Ever Get Through This?, due for global release in 2026 (AUS/UK/NZ: 3 February 2026; USA: June 2026).
Originally from London, Lucy works internationally, splitting her time between the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the USA
