Michael Switow is the co-author of two groundbreaking business leadership books, a former US Peace Corps volunteer with insights and entertaining stories about development opportunities and challenges, the founder and leader of a charity that has helped thousands of families in need, and the host of a popular financial investment series.
Michael draws on his experience in the worlds of business, media, public policy and non-profits to engage, entertain, promote reflection and prompt participants to take action — in support of their careers, companies and communities.
In addition to delivering keynote addresses, Michael also curates and moderates panel discussions that raise the level of discourse. Recent panels include ministerial-level events tackling climate finance and the biodiversity crisis at the 2023 Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank annual meetings in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt as well as a discussion about the Future of Work at SWITCH (Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology) 2023.
His books, Activate the Third Space and Taming the Mouse, answer the questions, “How can the ‘small guy’ compete and win against a much bigger company?” and “If people are a company’s best resource, why do their voices and ideas go unheard?” They present leadership principles for success and a clear roadmap for how every member of an organisation, not just those in the C-suites, can take personal responsibility for success.
Michael made his start in Asia writing for the Associated Press in Manila, then working in radio and television in Hong Kong. His financial, political and social commentary and reportage have been featured across leading news platforms in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and the United States.
He earned a master’s degree from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and brings broadcast professionalism, an inquiring mind and a penchant for engaging conversation to every discussion.
