Winston Ma, an expert on digital transformation and author of “The Digital War: How China’s Tech Power Shapes the Future of AI, Blockchain and Cyberspace,” recently spoke virtually at a corporate staff event about the future of the metaverse.
The metaverse is the convergence of all new data technologies on 5G networks, from XR (Extended Reality) to IoT (Internet of Things), from Big Data to cloud computing, from Blockchain to AI and even more. While everyone agrees that it is the future of the Internet and how people will connect and socialize and share information, individual users (especially the blockchain Web3 enthusiasts) , big tech companies, and sovereign nations have different perspectives on how it will roll out. Furthermore, the recent Meta’s (not-so-successful) trial of Metaverse push and FTX’s bankruptcy make the Web3 landscape ever confusing. But it’s important to every company to develop a metaverse strategy in the upcoming Metaverse revolution.
